Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ImageTools at imagetools.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the Service. These terms are effective as of January 1, 2025.

2. Description of Service

ImageTools provides browser-based image processing tools including format conversion (HEIC to JPG, WebP to PNG), image compression, image resizing, and AI-powered background removal. Some tools are available to all users at no cost; others require a Pro subscription or consume a monthly AI usage quota.

3. Free and Pro Plans

  • Free plan — unlimited use of basic tools (format conversion, compression, resizing), and up to 10 AI tool operations per 30-day rolling window. Files up to 10 MB.
  • Pro plan — unlimited use of all tools including AI tools, priority processing, and files up to 50 MB.
  • We reserve the right to adjust plan features and limits with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Upload or process content that is illegal, infringes third-party copyright, or constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Such activity will result in immediate account termination and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service or its underlying AI models.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to systematically abuse free-tier limits, circumvent rate limiting, or stress-test the Service without prior written permission.
  • Resell access to the Service or create competing products derived from the Service without our express written permission.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of any images you upload and any processed outputs you download. ImageTools claims no rights, title, or interest in the content of your files. The ImageTools name, logo, website design, and underlying software are the intellectual property of ImageTools and may not be copied or reused without permission.

6. Payment & Refunds

  • Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Lemon Squeezy, our authorized payment processor. All prices are in USD and include applicable taxes where required.
  • We offer a 7-day no-questions-asked refund policy. If you are unsatisfied with Pro within 7 days of your first payment, contact support@imagetools.app with your order email and we will issue a full refund.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain Pro access until that date and will not be charged again.
  • Annual plan refunds after the 7-day window are prorated at our discretion.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular processing result will meet your expectations. AI-powered tools may occasionally produce imperfect results due to the nature of machine learning.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ImageTools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. In all cases, ImageTools' total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to ImageTools in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where material changes are made, notify active subscribers by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
